And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.

I was able to get my hands on an old poem that I wrote - probably December 2004.

This was just after I recommitted my life to Christ.

“Change”

grey clouds and darkened skies in my dreams
like broken hymns, sung to the tune of angels screams
choirs, like fire under the mantle, spread the black against the wall
further away seemed closer to forever.

“Yet man dies not whilst the world, at once his mother and his monument, remains. His name is lost, indeed, but the breath he breathed still stirs the pine-tops on the mountains, the sound of the words he spoke yet echoes on through space; the thoughts his brain gave birth to we have inherited to-day; his passions are our cause of life; the joys and sorrows that he knew are our familiar friends—the end from which he fled aghast will surely overtake us also!

Truly the universe is full of ghosts, not sheeted churchyard spectres, but the inextinguishable elements of individual life, which having once been, can never die, though they blend and change, and change again for ever.”

What film / camera?

I usually use a Minolta SRT 201, but I dropped it recently.. and now it’s not working haha..

So I’m currently using my Minolta X-700 and yesterday I used Fujichrome Superia 400 and Kodak Gold 400 (nothing special), both expired however long ago.. third roll is from a few months ago when I was in Trinidad, don’t remember what’s on it.

Let sorrows cease, learn this lesson: Death is peace.
My great, great grandfather left behind his journal from about 1885-1895, and this was a line in a poem that he wrote. The context is him whispering that line from beyond to those mourners at his funeral.
