Vespers
Just watched a livestream of an Eastern Orthodox Church doing Vespers tonight, the day before the beginning of Lent (27th)
It was really beautiful. Almost unbearingly so.
Things I found in cane ground
“Cane ground” is what we call the fields where Sugar Cane is grown (whether there is currently cane growing there or not) also known as Cane Piece.
There is a cane piece a hop, skip and a jump away from my back gate. Went walking in the field, and found these pieces scattered around the field. The fields are ploughed often, so whatever is there is going to be totally broken up.

I am trying to go through AT LEAST 12 books in 12 months for 2012.
This is a great feat for me, because I normally read really slowly, and hardly ever finish books (or start them, for that matter). I think I read 4 or 5 books last year because I was very interested in the topics.
